Meet Our Team
Bruce M. BlevinsFortunately, I became involved with boating early in life. I enjoy sharing time on the water and my enthusiasm for the marine industry, with my family and friends. Spending time aboard my grandfather’s and my father’s boats fueled my passion for the sea, and I received my USCG captain's license in 1983. It has been my good luck to have continued to be working on or near the water ever since.
In the early 90's, stories of Costa Rica’s beautiful coastlines, rain forest, and amazing fishing caught my attention. The more I learned about Costa Rica, the more I yearned to see it for myself. I first visited Costa Rica 1993--a good friend and I loaded our gear into my Jeep CJ7 and drove here from Florida. I returned to Costa Rica as skipper of a sportfishing yacht in 1995. About a year later, the owner of that yacht and I established a boutique marina in the southern port of Golfito, Costa Rica. It has been an amazing experience to be involved with the yachting community while based here in Costa Rica, enriching the days as it continues to evolve and expand. Costa Rica and the marine industry have given me a wealth of incredible friendships and many blessings. The most treasured of which are my wife Christy and our two amazing daughters. Each year we look forward to the return of our long-term clients and friends as well as establishing a bond with new ones. |
Natasha V. DammeBorn and raised in Golfito, always a lover of the sea and the beach, with a passion for photography, coffee, and art.
With a little experience in the maritime industry, since I used to work for a short time in the commercial pier of Golfito, sportfishing and the yacht industry caught my attention. I have learned from this industry alongside BB Seas and its CEO Bruce Blevins, and I'm committed as much as this company to provide a high quality and reliable service. It's truly my pleasure to help and share with the yachting community, I feel really blessed to be able to enjoy and love what I do for living, and you can see that in the quality of service we provide as a team, always make the effort to go the extra mile. As a local from Golfito I hope this port grows and people from other places can see its potential as a destination for all lovers of sportfishing, the yacht industry, surfing, and nature. Looking forward to seeing you in Golfito! |

OUR CLIENTS
"I want to shout out to an amazing team in Golfito, Costa Rica. BB SEAS with Bruce Blevins and his amazing assistant Natasha V. Damme. I’ve worked with Bruce going on 20+ years from Banana Bay years to Fish Hook Marina at present and always covered me no matter my situation.
I’ve delivered or picked up 12 different boats in 2020 alone for shipment with different shipping companies and never had an issue with Costa Rica’s at times complicated process of paperwork. Whether you entering or departing the country, shipment of your vessel or anything you need these two are on it!
I’m sure Natasha makes us all look good! I really appreciate all the wonderful work and service they provide! Saludos y Felicidades Pura Vida!
Thank You and Mucho Gracias." Captain John LaGrone.

"I first met Bruce Blevins in 2002 when 'Old Reliable' first entered Golfito at Banana Bay Marina. He did a great job that first time and since then has guided three different 'Old Reliables' through more than a dozen arrivals and departures both on our own bottom and with yacht transporters without a single glitch. A couple of these passages involved some administrative challenges, and Bruce found legal and effective solutions to keep us on schedule. Through his many years in Costa Rica, he has developed great rapport with pertinent officials in the Golfito area. He has worked closely with all of the yacht transport companies that load and discharge in Golfito Bay. In traveling between Golfito and the Panama Canal, Bruce's relationship with Pete Stevens made that trip like being passed off from one air controller to another. Sadly we recently lost Pete. I am sure that Bruce will establish a contact there to make the trip as seamless as possible, but for us old timers, there will never be another Pete. Bruce is honest, hardworking, and keeps his clients informed. He is the go-to person for anything concerning the Golfito area. Through the years I am proud to say he has become my friend. I can recommend Bruce's services to anyone without reservation." Chip Shaffer, Old Reliable
"Thanks so much for always getting our paperwork and clearances done on such timely basis. I know what a challenge our program can be with all of the schedule changes. You guys always handle it with a smile. Thank you. No matter what I ask, you have always been there for me, no matter the circumstances, holidays, time of day etc." Captain Steve Lassley, Bad Company
"I have visited and cruised Costarican and Central American waters several times on different vessels with the support of Bruce Blevins and his team in Golfito. Bruce has a wealth of knowledge and was always available day or night to offer his support. Every request was handled with prompt service and in a first class manner. Through his connections, Bruce was able to make anything happen which proved to be critical in ensuring the success of our program and guest trips. I would not hesitate to recommend Bruce and his agency to other captains or yacht owners considering cruising through this area and beyond." Captain Peter Harrison, M.Y. Hayama
"Moving a Sportfisher from Australia to Central America was a big job, so much paperwork to be dealt with before even leaving home, but at least it was in English! and although we Aussies are often tortured with red tape and paperwork, it was nothing compared to what was awaiting me in Costa Rica and Panama! Put simply... without the hands-on, professional, and personalized help from Bruce and his staff to make sure all my Spanish i's & t's were covered and in order, I would have never pulled it off. If you're bringing a boat to Costa Rica and/or transiting to Panama and beyond, I really can't recommend the services of Bruce and BBSeas highly enough. My only complaint being--I don't think they charge enough!" Captain Dean Butler, Blue Dog
“At the Clipper Race we are very familiar with the excellent service provided by Bruce and his team at B & B Marine Consultants in Golfito. Our Clipper Race fleet has stopped regularly in Golfito to refuel en-route to Panama and the service and hospitality is always first class.” Mark Light, Clipper Round the World Race Director
"During the 2015-16 Clipper Round the World Race we stopped into Golfito Bay for a fuel stop on the way to Panama. It truly was a tropical paradise. After clearing in with the help of B & B Marine, we spent a few hours in the morning refuelling, and treating ourselves to a well-earned breakfast at the beachside bar in the well-equipped marina. All the staff couldn't have been more helpful, and I promised that one day I'd come back and spend some more time in this beautiful spot." Clipper Race Skipper
"When traveling from the U.S. to Central America , there's always a long list of items to check off before the boat is ready to go. One of the biggest things on that list is your official paperwork that is required to enter/leave the country, your cruising permit, and all of the documentation that goes with it. Bruce Blevins has been a huge help to us in making that process go seamlessly and quickly without any issues whatsoever. It's a big benefit having someone with Bruce's experience and skill set to help make the paperwork process seem like there is nothing to it. He knows the ins and outs and gets it done! Nice just to have someone like him on your team, and he makes the whole experience better." John Bayliss, Bayliss Boatworks & Bayliss Yachts
"Bruce Blevins and B & B Marine have exceeded our expectations for more than 15 years - working with Bruce is always a pleasure!" Captain John Crupi, MY Dorothea III
